We know buying CBD oil can be a bit confusing.

That’s why we have tried to break it down to be as easy as possible to understand for you.

If you have any questions, please just send an email. We love hearing from you :)

What is CBD?

CBD is the abbreviation for Cannabidiol, found in the cannabis plant, commonly known as the Hemp plant. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non psychoactive (meaning that you won't get high) cannabinoid.

Okay, then what is CBD oil?

CBD Oil is the oil extract taken from the Cannabis (or Hemp) plant. Cannabidiol is non-psychoactive, non- addictive and has been shown to provide many positive effects with more people now understanding the benefits of having a healthy endocannabinoid system.

What is CBAa?

CBDA is the precursor to CBD. When cannabis grows it produces THCA and CBDA, not THC and CBD. These cannabinoids in their acidic form are often seen as being ‘inactive'. When cannabis is heated, such as through smoking, cooking, or vaporization, a process known as decarboxylation occurs. Decarboxylation turns both THCA and CBDA into THC and CBD respectively. Both CBDA and CBD are non-psychoactive, meaning they won’t get you high.

What is the Entourage Oil?

The Entourage Oil is a unique blend of legal cannabis strains, which are chosen for their diverse cannabinoid content. Combining different types of cannabis grown in different climates maximises the possibilities of the cannabis plant. This effect is called "The Entourage Effect".

The concept of the Entourage Effect was conceived by Raphael Mechoulam, the man who first discovered THC and CBD. He suggested that cannabis compounds such as CBD work better when taken together. In other words, a proper cannabis extract should be more effective than CBD taken on its own.

The Entourage Oil contains a full array of cannabinoids, including CBD, CBDA and CBG. It also contains a large number of terpenes. Terpenes are the compounds in cannabis that cause the famous cannabis aroma: they’re basically cannabis essential oil. Due to ever-more sophisticated extraction techniques, The Entourage Oil now has more terpenes than ever before. Among the terpenes present are Myrcene, Limonene, Alpha-Pinene and – most importantly – Beta-Caryophyllene (BCP). BCP is by far the most common terpene in The Entourage Oil. It is what causes the subtle pepper taste you might notice. It is also a cannabinoid.

What is the Endocannabinoid System?

A more recent discovery, the human endocannabinoid system – is where Cannabidiol (CBD) has become of particular interest, for many wanting to support their wellbeing. It is now accepted that humans, as well as other vertebrate animals on Earth – all have an endocannabinoid system. This system is a group of receptors in both the brain and the nervous system which regulates a huge variety of processes – including appetite, mood and memory function. CBD and other cannabinoids interact with these receptors.

Is CBD oil legal in the UK and Europe?

Yes! The CBD used in Indi Oils comes from hemp flowers grown legally on farms in the European Union. Hemp is legal to buy & sell throughout the European Union. So you can use Indi Oils in the knowledge that you are not breaching any laws. In other parts of the world the law can be less liberal so, regretfully we don't sell our products outside the EU.

Is the cannabis grown organically?

The cannabis that we use in Indi Oils is grown without the use of any pesticides, herbicides, artificial fertilisers or harmful chemicals. Hemp does not require any additional, unnatural help in growing due to it being an incredibly resilient and fast growing plant.

Is your CBD lab tested?

The Indi Oils CBD oil is regularly lab tested to see how much CBD is in the product. But not just CBD, also how much THC, CBDa, CBG and other common cannabinoids that are also found within hemp.
In addition, it is tested for heavy metals, pesticides and other nasties, to ensure that the CBD oils are 100% safe to use. For more about lab testing, please check our suppliers website here.

How do you take it and much should I take?

CBD is taken as a food supplement to increase your body's own naturally produced ‘Cannabinoids’. Everyone is unique and how you respond to the CBD maybe different from one person to another. It is recommended that you start with a small dose such as 1 spray and gradually build up over a few days, increasing to 3 sprays after a week, Indi Oils come in an easy to use spray bottle. Ideally taken before food, the oil is sprayed under your tongue and held there for a 2 minutes if possible, before swallowing. This is the quickest route into the bloodstream. We do not recommend more than 9 sprays per day in total.

Why is it important to hold the oil under your tongue?

Can I take CBD with my medication?

CBD is fat soluble. That’s a problem for us as our bodies are made of water. When we swallow CBD it goes straight through us with hardly any of it reaching the bloodstream. By holding it under our tongue, we have a direct route to the bloodstream. The longer you leave it there the better!

As with all supplements and well-being products it is always recommended to consult your doctor or healthcare professional before taking CBD if you are already taking medication.
